College Writing

College Writing is a College in High School course offered through Seton Hill University to students at Norwin. This provides students the opportunity to take a college-level course and obtain the college credits while still in high school. This semester-long course is only offered to 12th graders and is designed to provide exposure to the varied types of writings done in college. Students will write a personal narrative (college or scholarship essay); an APA formatted researched argument; a rhetorical analysis; and one other piece. Students end the semester with a final portfolio which includes reflections of growth from the semester, a resume and cover letter, and other pieces.
The course utilizes a class website from which students have access to all of the notes provided in class, a schedule of assignments and due dates, and a link to templates, as well as models of exemplars. The link to the course is https://sites.google.com/norwinsd.org/college-writing2023/home
