Welcome to Science Class

Hello! My name is Mrs. Woitkowiak and I am looking forward to being your science teacher this school year! This will be a productive year full of learning and hands-on activities. We will go over the rules and procedures in class and a copy will be sent home on the first day of school with your child. Please take some time to look it over so you can understand how things are going to be in my classroom.

The transition from middle school to high school is often difficult for some students. Adding to the difficulty is the state requirement for the students to pass the Biology Keystone exam in May. This requirement has led me and many other biology teachers to demand the most out of our students during the year so that they may be successful on the biology keystone exam. I will move through the material at a certain pace and have some rigor in the course to make sure students are learning the information rather than memorizing the information, because they need to be able to apply the information rather than just recall the information.

I know there may be some nervousness going into this school year and I assure you that I will be taking every precaution necessary to ensure the safety and success of each student. We will be facing different challenges throughout the year, but we will face them together and become amazing problem solvers along the way!

If you have any questions please feel free to email me at [email protected]

See you soon,

Mrs. Woitkowiak
