SAT Testing Information
The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is an entrance exam widely accepted at United States colleges and universities. It measures what students learn in high school and what they need to succeed in college.
About the SAT
Following are details about the SAT:
- Testing Time: 3 hours
- There is an additional/optional 50 minute essay.
- Structure: 3 Tests + optional essay:
- Reading Test (65 minutes / 52 questions)
- Writing & Language Test (35 minutes / 44 questions)
- Math Test (80 minutes / 58 questions)
- Score Range: Composite 400-1600

- Essay: reported in 3 dimensions, each scored in range from 2-8

Norwin High School students are recommended to take the SAT in the spring of their junior year and/or fall of their senior year.

August 24, 2024 (Register by August 9)
October 5, 2024 (Register by September 20)
November 2, 2024 (Register by October 18)
December 7, 2024 (Register by November 22)
March 8, 2025 (Register by February 21)
May 3, 2025 (Register by April 18)
June 7, 2025 (Register by May 22)

- On the day of a scheduled exam, the SAT will begin promptly at 8:00 am Students are asked to arrive to Door #1 of Norwin High School before 7:45 am in order to be assigned a room so testing may begin at 8:00 a.m.
- Students must bring proper identification.
- Cell phones must either be turned off and given to test proctors or not brought into the High School.

- The College Board and ACT have collaborated on new concordance tables to help educators and families compare SAT and ACT scores.
- The 2018 tables are now the only official concordance tables between the ACT and the SAT and should be used as the single source of reference when paring scores on the two tests.
