About the Teacher

This is my fourth year in Norwin School District.  While I have previously served as a special education paraprofessional and an extended substitute science teacher, this year, I will be a long-term substitute teacher at the high school for the entire 2026-27 school year.

I was born and raised in the Boston area.  I earned my bachelor's degree in Biophysical Chemistry from Dartmouth College and my PhD in Chemistry from Brandeis University.  As a graduate student, I regularly taught Introductory Chemistry Lab to first-year college students and assisted faculty in lecture instruction.  After graduation, I was employed as a research chemist at a government research lab for five years.

I left New England several years ago and eventually became a certified secondary science teacher in another state.  Since moving to the Norwin area three years ago, I pursued and completed my Pennsylvania teaching certification through Point Park University, culminating in a teaching internship at another Westmoreland County school district.  I am now certified in Grades 7-12 Chemistry, Biology, and General Science.

My husband Craig is an elementary music teacher in Norwin at Hahntown and Sheridan Terrace Elementary Schools.  We have three children, the oldest of whom is a Norwin graduate while the youngest two are NHS seniors.
