The Norwin Percussion Ensemble is comprised of about two dozen percussion students in grades 9-12, who also perform with the Marching Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band. During their concert each spring, the Norwin Percussion Ensemble performs a variety of contemporary percussion literature for both large and small ensembles.

All percussionists at Norwin High School are members of the Percussion Ensemble and rehearse after school. Students can also enroll in MUS-480 Percussion Ensemble during the school day for additional performance opportunities.

Recent accomplishments include invitations to perform with the IUP Percussion Ensemble as well as performances at the PMEA State Conference (2009, 2013, and 2016) and the NAfME Eastern Division Conference (2011). The Norwin Percussion Ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Brandon Kandrack.
