Welcome to the History Club!
Our history:
Norwin's History Club has been in the works since 2016. The main goal of the club is to have students experience different historical sites. Since the club began, we have had the opportunity to take a few field trips and provide the students with enrichment outside of the normal classroom environment.
Officers for the 2025-2026 school year are:
President: Jacob Jumba
Vice President: Josh Bauer
Secretary: Athena Daugherty
Treasurer: Cassandra Halaszynski
Social Media Coordinator: Rylee Pavel
A few places that Norwin History Club has visited throughout the years for extended trips are:
Washington DC
New York City
Gettysburg
Pittsburgh has a unique history, and the History Club has visited Heinz History Center on several occasions where the students have the chance to embrace our history and then walk through the Strip District to gain a greater appreciation of what the city has to offer!
The Flight 93 Memorial is just a short drive from North Huntingdon and students have visited the site in the past. Learning about the events that happened on September 11th is extremely important and students need to take the time to learn about the heroic individuals that sacrificed their own lives to save others.
The goal is the visit the Memorial in the Fall of 2025 as the trip in the spring had to be canceled.
