Work History:
Mrs. Llerena is currently in her 19th year of teaching at the Norwin School District.  She began her teaching career at Norwin Middle School and taught Exploratory Spanish there for two years. She is now teaching Spanish 1, Honors Spanish 4 at Norwin High School.  Honors Spanish 4 also offers college credits through Seton Hill University.  
 
Mrs. Llerena is also the Curriculum Leader for the World Languages Department and Advisor to the Global Scholars Program and Spanish Club. 
 
Educational Background:
In 2005 Mrs. Llerena graduated from Clarion University with a BS in Spanish Education (K-12) and two minors: French and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. While attending Clarion, she was fortunate to have studied the Spanish language and Latin culture in Quito, Ecuador and French in Quebec, Canada.  Mrs. Llerena finds both experiences very valuable to her students because she is always sharing her cultural and linguistic experiences with them during class discussions.  
 
Mrs. Llerena returned to Clarion University to receive her M.Ed. in World Language Teaching in 2012. During this experience she was able to revisit Ecuador to study Andean Literature in Otavalo, as well as visit one of the Galapagos Islands.
 
Travel Experiences:
Mrs. Llerena loves to travel, especially to Spanish speaking countries!  In addition to her study abroad experiences in Ecuador, she has also traveled to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Costa Rica, and Spain.
