Meet Mrs. Downs

I am so excited to return to Norwin School District as a Special Education Teacher in the Autistic Support classroom at the High School! 

 

As a Special Education Teacher, I taught for seven years within the Bearcat BEST Transition Program at Saint Vincent College. In this role, I prepared my students socially, vocationally, and academically, while increasing their functional independent living skills. I continue to teach as an Adjunct Professor in the education department, preparing undergraduate and graduate students in best teaching practices in the field of special education. Prior to working at Saint Vincent, I was the lead teacher in Autistic Support at NHS School in Washington County for three years.

 

My husband, two boys, and I reside within the Norwin School District. We enjoy being active within our local community, spending time outdoors, and traveling.
