As the Emotional Support Teacher at Norwin High School, let me share a little bit about myself. Professionally, I have been teaching in the field of special education for thirty-seven years; while eighteen of those years have been with Norwin School District.
I graduated from Slippery Rock State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special & Elementary Education. Throughout my career, I have received a Master’s Degree and Supervisory Certification from the University of Pittsburgh. While attending California University, I obtained a Principal Certification and Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. I am excited to share that during Women’s Month, I earned a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership doctorate
Personally, I live in the country and enjoy walking and gardening. I have four adult children; Adam, Tyler, Ashley and Vincent. I love spending time with my four granddaughters, traveling, reading and crafting. I consider myself an amateur stained glass artist. Looking forward to future cruises and visiting Ireland, England and Alaska.
I am looking forward to a school year that provides each of us with positive, learning experiences. My life motto, "High expectations result in high results; while low expectations result in low results." Overall, I consider myself to be blessed with a career that is my true passion! As an educator, Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan provide me with the motivation to strive towards assisting students to make academic and personal growth.
